Hi! My name is Sarah McNeil, I'm a graphic designer, illustrator, artist/printmaker, knitting pattern designer (and more?).
This website contains a small selection of some of my work in design, illustration, book arts and print. I'm updating it all the time and hope to add an archive/catalogue for all my books soon.
I graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Painting) in 2007, and shortly after began working full time as a commercial illustrator. This has included working to tight deadlines, fine detail illustration work/producing work in various styles to suit clients needs, use of the Adobe suite, Figma, social media and marketing, negotiating and liaising with clients. I have worked on editorial illustration, posters, storyboards, illustrations for products, fashion and more. In 2023, I completed a Diploma of Graphic Design to formalise my design education.
Beyond illustration, I have taken part in exhibitions and artist residencies worldwide. I founded a boutique risograph printing studio in 2014 and this lead me further towards graphic design and art books.
I enjoy teaching book art and print workshops for adults and children in galleries, libraries and schools. I believe that art and design is for everyone, and everyone has the right and ability to create their own work to communicate with others, and I love being able to facilitate this through the workshops.

In the future, I hope to work on more packaging design, continue with my current projects, and start a children's clothing label.
In addition to my illustration and design work, I run a greeting card business called Petalfold, showcasing sincere work from a range of international artists, and have an online store called Minuet. In my spare time I knit and design my own knitting patterns, make lino prints, read, and spend time with my family and my dog.
